Davis Love III wins for the 20th time

I had to feel good for Davis Love III winning the Children's Miracle Network Tournament and earning a lifetime exemption on the PGA Tour because this was his 20th win on Tour. Most of those playing today were trying to move up the Money List to be better than 125th place to guarantee their 2009 Tour Card. For full coverage of the event check out the PGA Tour Link under my Favorite Links.

Toronto Maple Leafs win!

Toronto Maple Leafs just defeated Montreal Canadiens in an old time rivalry. Go Leafs Go!!

Saskatchewan Roughriders Season is over

Too many turnovers.. Too many quarterbacks sitting on the bench. Saskatchewan loses to BC. Saskatchewan playoff season is over. :(

Sunday European Golf Tour

A few days late with the entry, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the European Tour Sunday morning before going to church. The Tournament was CASTELLÓ MASTERS Costa Azahar
Club de Campo del Mediterráneo, Castellón, Spain and the winner by 3 strokes with -20 was Sergio Garcia playing on the course he grew up playing and operated by his father.

Yeah!! Roughriders!!

What an impressive Defensive effort tonight. They pounded the Eskimos. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the last half of the game because I was chaperoning the Church Youth Group.

We went bowling tonight. Let's just say I am not ready to join a league. My best score was 123 in 1 hour of playing. Maybe I can blame it on all the loud music and video distractions, but it would probably been the same regardless.

LPGA Tour in Hawaii

What an exciting finish. Those ladies are good. Morgan Pressel playing her home course approached the 18th hole tied for the lead and needing a birdie to win. Although it was her home course, she was at a disadvantage because she is not as long a hitter as others. There was a strong trade wind to contend with. She sank a 22 foot putt from well off the green to make her birdie and win by 1 stroke. It was only her 2nd Tournament win since turning pro.

Saskatchewan Roughriders

Well they won... barely by one point... Should have been a lot more if there hadn't been 2 interceptions in the end zone. The Roughriders vs TiCats was a nail biter to the last second. I guess I have to say a win is a win even if it is ugly. The quarterbacks (whichever is playing on a given day) will have to be more accurate with those passes to cut down the interceptions if they are to win any games in the playoffs.

Chinese F1 Race

Lewis Hamilton and his team had good preliminary results that put his car in the poll position. He took the lead at the beginning of the race and with no mechanical or driving mishaps, stayed in the lead and won the race. Actually, I watched the replay coverage 6:00 am - 8:00am this morning. I made the mistake of laying down on the chesterfield to watch it. It could probably be said because the weather was ideal and there was no racing incidents, that it was a bit boring, with good driving and timely fuel stops determining the final positions. It might be said that my dreams about the race were more exciting than the race itself :)

ATP Tennis Tour in Madrid, Spain

I just watched an incredible match - the semi-final match between Rafael Nadal (#1 Player) and the French player, Gilles Simon. Simon didn't back down and in front of 10,000 passionate and vocal Nadal fans, defeated Nadal in a thrilling 3rd Set tie breaker.

PGA Tour

Mike Weir did make the cut in this weekend's PGA Tour Event, but he is well behind the front runners and will have to do incredibly well in the final 2 rounds. John Daly did not make the cut.

Roughriders Game - No Thanksgiving Party

What a stinker of a game. Diane called us into the Dining Room to eat the Thanksgiving Supper and we gladly went because the Stampeders thoroughly stamped on the Roughriders and we couldn't bare to watch anymore.
I just finished watching the Eskimos vs Lions on TV and that was a close game up until the 4th Quarter when suddenly the Lions exploded to win 42 -28.

Golf at Cooke

Thursday, it was cool and windy, but only partly cloudy, so Randy and I ventured out on Cooke for a round of golf. We kept our own scores, but played match play. I scored 52 front and back for 104 and 19 putts front and back for 38 putts. I won 10 holes to Randy's 6 holes and we squared 2 holes. Overall - a great day of golf.

Australia Cap

Harry Hancock, my former senior golf partner (only got one game in together this summer, and still coffee buddy brought an Australian golf cap back from Australia for me. Great keepsake. Thank you Harry!!

Senior Golf Range Volunteer

This year I signed up to be an alternate for the Tuesday evening shift at the Cooke Golf Driving Range. I worked with Harry Hancock early in the season to figure out what I had to do. Then I filled in once for someone and also for Harry when he was on vacation in Australia. On October 2nd, I attended an Appreciation Supper for the Senior Volunteers and it was and excellent meal and great fellowship. I sat with John Schmidt and Danny Jutras. John is part of the Ham Radio fraternity and we talked about the old days of Ham Radio and his teaching career. I neglected to put my name in for the door prizes, but the MC gave me the opportunity to put my name in before he started the draws and lo and behold if my name didn't get drawn for a Rugged Country golf cap.

Guy Bellerby's Golf Holiday

In the Spring, Rev. Guy Bellerby started his ministry in his new post at Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island. Unfortunately, the cost of golfing regularly is prohibitive. Guy decided to return to Prince Albert for a weeklong golf holiday. He stayed at Dan's and Randy's homes depending on circumstances and Dan and Guy played and incredible amount of holes of golf. Randy and I joined in as much as we were able, as well as others from our joint Bible Study groups on Thursday and then Birch Hills Golf Course on Saturday. My comment to Guy was that it was a golf holiday for me as well, as I would not have been able to go as much as I did, if he hadn't come. Guy and I were privileged to concluding one day of golf with a Salmon BBQ Bake in Dan's deck.

OK HJERTAAS GOLF TOURNAMENT

This year the weather was cool and windy making it tough to score low. Our team, the SANDTRAP SAINTS, finished at 1 under par. Team members this year were Dr. Randy Friesen, Rev. Dan Stroman, Philip Fourie, and Art Pederson. We received a phone call during the round from former teammate, Rev. Guy Bellerby. Dan and I were able to attend the Awards Banquet and my name was drawn for a $50 Gift Card for Home Depot in Saskatoon. Still haven't made a trip down there to use it. Team prize for each of us was a SGI zipper bag with a sleeve of Calloway golf balls and a nice SGI logo golf towel.

Saskatchewan Roughriders Summer

It was a great start to the season with 6 wins in a row. Now up to 9 wins with the win against Calgary last night. Keep it up guys! GO RIDERS GO!
